| Grapes less than a third grown, and grape-stones, and grape-husks, and the Tamad made of these, the skin of a pomegranate and its sproutings, the shells of nuts, and fruit-stones, are prohibited in respect of orlah, Asherah and a Nazirite, but permitted in respect of reba`I. Underripe fruit is prohibited [in respect of] all of them. |

| R. Jose said: one may plant a shoot of [a tree which is] orlah, but one may not plant a nut of [a tree which is] orlah, be cause it is fruit; and one may not graft [palm branches bearing] early date berries belonging to [a tree which is] orlah. |
