| 208:12 The mourner (had ordered) some work from another, since (the other) is working as a contractor and received the work before (the mourner) became a mourner, and also it's done in the privacy of the worker's home, it's permitted therefore for him to do it. | היה להאבל איזה מלאכה ביד אחר כיון שהוא בקבלנות וקבל את המלאכה קודם שנעשה אבל וגם הוא בצינעא בביתו של הבעל מלאכה לכן מותר לו לעשותה |
| 208:13 Building work for the mourner, even through a non-Jew, on contract, and in a remote place where no Jews live there, is forbidden. Work on his fields by others on a contract, that is, he gives the worker an agreed amount for all the work on his field (such as) ploughing, sowing, reaping, and the like, some (authorities) permit and others prohibit. | מלאכת בנין של האבל אפילו על ידי אינו יהודי ובקבלנות ובמקום רחוק שאין ישראלים דרים שם אסור ובמלאכת שדהו ביד אחרים בקבלנות דהיינו שהוא נותן להפועל שכר קצוב בעד כל עבודת השדה חרישה זריעה קצירה וכדומה יש מתירין ויש אוסרין |
