| 180:15 A Prozbul doesn't release. What is a Prozbul ? The lender goes to three (men) who are learned in Torah, who form a (Jewish) Court of Law, and says: ''You are judges, I hand over to you all debts, that I have from so-and-so, so that I can collect them whenever I want'' They write him a Prozbul as follows: ''In a session of three (judges) sitting together, and you, so-and-so, the lender, and you said before us, I hand over...'' The three of them sign at the bottom as judges or as witnesses. They can do this also at the close of the year, that is, on the day before the New Year, before sunset. Some (authorities) say that they don't actually need to write the Prozbul, rather it's enough with what he said before them. | 180:16 The Prozbul isn't effective unless the borrower has some land. Even any size at all is acceptable, and even a flower pot with a hole in it, and even if the borrower has nothing, except a guarantor, or someone who owes him, for this borrower this is sufficient.
