179:9 A person should always keep himself away from becoming a guarantor or holding trusts1 as much as possible.

לעולם ירחיק אדם את עצמו מן הערבות ומן הפקדונות בכל מה דאפשר
179:10 One who was holding a note of indebtedness against his neighbour, and the note was worn and (the writing) could become erased, should go to a Bet Din and have it certified. מי שיש לו שטר חוב על חבירו והשטר בלה והולך להמחק יבא לבית דין ויעשו לו קיום
179:11 It's forbidden to keep a cancelled note in one's house, as it's said:1 ''Let not wickedness dwell in your tents''
