167:2 Idols of a Gentile and also its articles and its ornaments can be
annulled. When the Gentile annulls it, by hand,1 that there won't be any
more idol worship or articles or ornaments for idol worship, it's
permitted.

אלילים של אינו יהודי וכן תשמישה ונויה יש להן ביטול שכשמבטל אותה האינו יהודי בידים שלא תהא עוד עבודה זרה או תשמיש או נוי לעבודה זרה הותרו |

167:3 Candles that were lit before it, and afterwards the Gentile put
them out, for his own reasons, and (then) sells them to a Jew, are
permitted, since he put them out for himself this annuls them. In any
case, one shouldn't make them into candles for a mizvah, and also any
object used for idol worship, even though they were annulled and are
permitted for every day use, they are forbidden for the purposes of a
mizvah because of ''distasteful to exalted''.1
1) One doesn't change an objects' use from something profane to something holy. | נרות שהדליקו לפניה ואחר כך כיבן האינו יהודי לצורך עצמו ומכרן לישראל מותרין דכיון שכיבם לצורך עצמו זהו ביטולן ומכל מקום אין לעשות מהן נרות של מצוה וכן כל דבר של עבודה זרה אף על פי שנתבטל ומותר להדיוט אסור לדבר מצוה משום דמאיסי לגבוה |
| 167:4 The (special) clothes worn by the priests that minister to the place of the idols, Some (authorities) say they are considered as ornaments for them, and not ornaments for the idols, and they don't need annulling.
