163:2 It is customary that the people attending the circumcision stand,
as it is said: ''And the people stood at the covenant''1 except the
sandek who holds the baby while sitting. After the father has blessed
''to introduce him'' they reply Amen and everyone says: ''Even as he has
been introduced into the covenant, so may he be introduced to the Torah,
the marriage canopy and to (a life of) good deeds.''

| 163:3 The mohel needs to know the laws of circumcision and needs to check that the child is healthy. Also, the midwife should be careful that if she sees any illness in the child she will inform them. | המוהל צריך שידע הלכות מילה וצריך שיחקור אם הילד הוא בריא וגם להמילדת יש להזהיר אם תראה איזה מיחוש בילד תודיע |

163:4 One must be especially careful not to circumcise a child who is
possibly sick, because danger to life postpones all.1 For one can
circumcise after the time2 but it's impossible to restore a (lost)
Jewish life ever. See further in Yoreh De'ah 262 and 263 when one
circumcises a baby that was ill and got better. Immediately that the
baby is fit to be circumcised it is forbidden to delay the mitzvah for
any reason such as to increase the festivities3 and the like, rather
circumcise immediately he is fit but not on Shabbat or a festival as is
written in Yoreh De'ah 266.
