| 145:16 A woman who heard that her husband had died in another place, even if she heard from several upright men, shouldn't marry without consulting a Torah sage. | אשה ששמעה שמת בעלה במקום אחר אפילו שמעה מכמה אנשים כשרים לא תנשא בלי שאלת חכם |

145:17 One was suspected of (having relations) with a married woman, and
her husband divorced her or he died,1 she is forbidden to the one who
was suspected. Just as she is forbidden to her husband,2 so is she
forbidden to the one who had relations with her. Even if her husband
divorced her, because of something unsavory that was heard regarding her
with the other man, it's forbidden for the other man to marry her.
1) So she was now, potentially, available to him. 2) Once a husband suspects his wife of having been unfaithful, he is forbidden to remain living with her. | הנחשד על אשת איש וגירשה בעלה או שמת הרי זו אסורה לזה הנחשד שכשם שנאסרה לבעל כך נאסרה לבועל ואפילו גירשה בעלה מחמת דבר מכוער שנשמע עליה עם הנחשד אסור להנחשד שישא אותה |
