NOTES
משנה ב
כל מין זרעים - There are two similar opinions as to why these זרעים (which are subset of vegetables) may not be mixed in one vegetable bed even with the separation previously described; one given by the רמב"ם and the רע"ב, is that these seeds are normally planted in fields rather than gardens, and so when multiple species are mixed in a much smaller garden bed, they appear to be כלאים, even if the rules of the previous משנה are followed. Another opinion, given by רש"י in (39b) פסחים, is that these draw their nourishment from a wider area of land than other vegetables.
כשר שהיה כשר מתחילתו - That is, it is permissible to leave what was planted there when the border was whole, and there is no obligation to uproot some of it; when planting anew however, the border must be rebuilt.
אחד מכאן ואחד מכאן ואחד באמצע - These rows must still be 1.5 טפחים from each other; the הוה אמינא is that separation is normally sufficient, that would not be the case where the middle row is lower than its neighbors, they appear to be closer together.

אורך ששה טפחים ורוחב מלאו - I.e. it is six טפחים deep and six טפחים wide.
רחב כמלוא רחב הפרסה - This is one טפח.
