פרק כד משנה א

שלשה תריסין הם

There are three [type of] shields:

the bent shield (which curved around its bearer)

is tamei midras (as it would be slept upon during campaigns),

and that which is sported with on the jousting grounds

is tamei the tumah of a corpse (as it was small and flat, and only used as a shield),

and the arabian play-shield (which was small and used only as a toy)

is tahor from anything.

שלש עגלות הן

There are three [types of] wagons:

That which is made like a cathedra (a cathedra was a type of chair which some wagon would resemble in that they had a raised back and sides, while remaining open in front)

[a wagon that was] like a bed (this consisted of a wooden frame within which a sheet of leather was suspended; it was meant to carry for cargo, but could not be sat upon while doing so)

and [a wagon made to haul] stones

is tahor from anything (as this wagons bed was made with an open wooden lattice what would not hold a pomegranate).
