כלי עור

Leather utensils,
מאימתי מקבלין טמאה

from when do they become susceptible to tumah?
התורמל A shepherd's pouch,
משיחסום

from when one finishes [its edges]
ויקנב and trims [any stray hairs from the leather]
ויעשה את קיחותיו and one makes its drawstrings;
רבי יהודה אומר Rabbi Yehuda says
משיעשה אזניו when one makes its loops (he holds that the drawstring need not be inserted, but as soon as their loops were made it is susceptible to tumah).
סקרטיה A tanner's apron,
משיחסום ויקנב from when one finishes [its edges] and trims [stray hairs]
ויעשה את ציצתה and makes its straps;
רבי יהודה אומר Rabbi Yehuda says
משיעשה את טבעותיה from when one makes its rings (to which the straps were attached).
קטבוליא A bed spread,
משיחסום ויקנב from when one finishes [its edges] and trims [stray hairs];
רבי יהודה אומר Rabbi Yehuda says
משיעשה את קיחותיה from when one makes its strings (presumably, these were used to tie it down to the bed).
הכר והכסת של עור The pillow and mattress of leather
משיחסום ויקנב from when one finishes (their edges, which in this case means that they were sewn up aftet they were stuffed) and trims (their edges);
רבי יהודה אומר Rabbi Yehuda says
משיתפרם from when one sews them
וישיר בהם and leaves in them (a gap in their edge for the insertion of stuffing)
פחות מחמשה טפחים less than five handbreadths.
 

פרק טז משנה ה
פטיליה A petiliyah (a wicker basket used for storing dried figs)
טמאה is tamei,
וחסינה and a chasina (another type of basket, made from thorns and used to store clay)
טהורה is tahor (as it was fragile and not moved when full);
סגניות של עלין Signoyos (domes made of loosely woven twigs and/or leaves, used to cover fruit)
טהורות are tahor (as they were disposable),
של נצרים [but those made] of twigs
טמאות are tamei (as they were relatively durable);
חותל a wrapper (made of reed or palm leaf matting, this was used to protect dates)
שהוא נותן לתוכו that one [is able to] put into it
ונוטל מתוכו and take out of it [without tearing it]
טמא is tamei,
ואם אינו יכול and if he is not able
עד שיקרענו until it is torn
או עד שיתירנו or untied
טהור it is tahor.
