R. Judah said: if so, why do they record the opinion of a single person among the many to set it aside? So that if a man shall say, thus have I learnt the tradition,` it may be said to him, `according to the [refuted] opinion of that individual did you hear it.

אמר רבי יהודה, אם כן למה מזכירין דברי היחיד בין המרובין לבטלן׃ שאם יאמר אדם כך אני מקובל, יאמר לו כדברי איש פלוני שמעת.

Beth Shammai say: a quarter-Kab of any bones, even from two corpses or from three. And Beth Hillel say: a quarter-Kab of bones from a corpse, either from [the bones which form] the greater portion of the [body`s] build, or from the greater portion of the number [of the body`s bones]. Shammai says: even from a single bone.
