All meat is prohibited
לבשל בחלב to be cooked in milk,
חוץ מבשר דגים וחגבים except the meat of fish and locusts.
And it is prohibited to bring it up (i.e. to place it)
עם הגבינה על השלחן with cheese on the table,
חוץ מדגים וחגבים except for fish and locusts.
One who vows to abstain from meat
מתר בבשר דגים וחגבים is permitted to have the meat of fish and locusts.
Fowl may be brought up
עם הגבינה על השלחן with cheese on the table (as it is only rabbinically forbidden to be cook fowl with dairy),
ואינו נאכל but it may not be eaten [together with the cheese],
כדברי בית שמאי [these are] like the words of Beis Shammai;
ובית הלל אומרים and Beis Hillel say (even though the prohibition by fowl is only rabbinical)
לא עולה ולא נאכל one may not bring it up [on the same table] nor eat it [together with cheese].
Rabbi Yosi said,
This is from the (unusual cases of) leniencies of Beis Shammai
ומחמרי בית הלל and stringencies of Beis Hillel.
And with which table to they speak?
With a table that is eaten at.
But a table
שסודר עליו את התבשיל that [is only used] to arrange food
נותן זה בצד זה one may place them next to each other
ואינו חושש and there is no concern.
